Allison M. SteadDVMOwner/Veterinarian
Dr. Allison Morse (Schultz) Stead graduated from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and has been practicing small animal medicine in the north Dallas area for over 25 years. Dr. Stead worked in a large 6 doctor practice in Plano for many years, as well as working at an emergency clinic. She was the lead veterinarian for the City of Plano Animal Shelter providing surgical and medical needs for the shelter animals. She opened The Animal Hospital of Celina in 2004. Dr. Stead's areas of interest are surgery, feline medicine and veterinary practice management. Dr. Stead loves talking with clients and providing a personal touch through both client communication and excellent patient care. Dr. Stead is married to Doug Stead, a former executive in the auto business. They have 3 children. Kaylyn Schultz Appleyard is married and received her bachelor's and master's degree from Baylor University. Lauren Schultz is a third year cadet at the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York. Travis Stead is the finance manager at Mercedes of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Dr. Stead and her husband have 2 dogs, Sammy, a Bouvier and Tucker, a Golden Retriever. They also have 3 cats, Howard (pictured here), Bunny and Norman, a Ragdoll cat. Dr. Stead loves to read, work on her little farm and travel.
Clara B. VadalaDVMAssociate Veterinarian
Dr. Clara Bush Vadala provides veterinary care for dogs, cats, birds, exotics, pocket pets, small mammals, and reptiles. She is a graduate of Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine. She is a native of Celina and is happy to be back in her hometown! Besides caring for a variety of species, Dr. Vadala has a special interest in birds, surgery, internal medicine and behavioral medicine. She enjoys meeting and talking with clients and building relationships with them and their furry family members. Dr Vadala is married to Adam Vadala, who is an elementary school music teacher in Van Alstyne. They have 3 dogs, Lulu, a pit bull mix, a Lab named Zeus (both shown here), and Nema, a shepherd mix. They have 3 cats, Treble, Sonnet and Isabel, a cockatiel named Kenneth, and 2 rats, Izzy and Jamie. Dr. V also enjoys writing poetry in her spare time. A fun fact about Dr. Vadala is that she is a published poet and published her first book while in vet school. (Prairie Smoke:Poems from the Grasslands)!
Bobi MaynardOffice Manager/Client Specialist
Bobi has been working as our hospital team leader since November 2012. She brought a vast knowledge of small animal veterinary hospital management after working as a multi doctor veterinary practice manager in Colorado for 14 years. Bobi received management training through the American Animal Hospital Association Veterinary Management Institution. She currently manages our reception staff as well as our veterinary assistant staff. Bobi is married to Dwayne Maynard has 3 children, Savannah, Brady, and Payton, and 2 step children, Janelle, and Brittney. Her animal family includes Ethel, a Basset Hound (shown here), and Lily, a Maltese.
Traci WysockiReceptionist/Client Specialist
Traci works as a receptionist and client specialist. Traci has worked for our hospital since May 2018. She has over 8 years of experience as a veterinary assistant as well as working for a dog boarding facility and on a horse farm. She is married to Tom Wysocki, and has three children, Thomas, Megan and Michael. Her four legged children include 3 dogs, Nick a Cairn Terrier, Nathan a miniature Dachschund, and Piper the Pomeranian (shown here). Traci was born and raised in Highland Mills, New York.
Tanya MortonLead Veterinary Assistant
Tanya has worked at our hospital for over 5 years and has worked in the veterinary industry for much of the past 18 years. She has worked as a kennel assistant and later, kennel supervisor. Before working here, Tanya also worked as a veterinary assistant and receptionist. She currently holds the position of lead veterinary assistant. Tanya is married to T.J. Diggins and has two sons, Anthony and Devin. Her animal family includes Grizzley, an Australian Shepherd mix and Molly, (pictured), an Australian Shepherd mix. Tanya grew up in Seattle, Washington, and has lived in Texas since 2012.
Emma BeeVeterinary Assistant
Emma has worked as a member of our team since May 2016. She works as a veterinary assistant and also uses her knowledge of birds and exotics to assist Dr. Vadala. Her previous work experience includes bathing dogs in a grooming facility and volunteering as a boarding kennel assistant. She is currently taking classes for her undergraduate degree at University of North Texas in Denton. Her animal family includes Lacy 'Bean', a mixed breed dog, Pistol, a Pit Bull mix (both pictured here), two cats, Odin and Salem, and a fancy rat named Mara. Emma grew up in Killeen/Fort Hood, Texas.
Mandi BrownVeterinary Assistant
Mandi joined our veterinary assistant team in December 2018. Mandi attended Texas A&M University where whe graduated with her bachelor's of science degree in Animal Science along with her Master's degree in equine reproduction. Mandi has worked as a veterinary assistant in a small animal practice and in a small animal emergency clinic. She has also worked as a student assistant in the large animal ICU hospital at Texas A&M. Mandi is currently in the process of applying to veterinary school and hopes to attend either Iowa State University or the University of Wisconsin. Mandi's animal family include Molly Mae, a Golden Retriever, and Sally, a Goldendoodle, (both pictured here). She enjoys spending time with her love, Matt, as well as family and friends, playing video games and running.
Shannon DicksonKennel Manager
Shannon became our kennel manager in August 2018. Previously, she worked as a kennel manager for 11 years in the same location! She provides excellent care to our boarding pets while keeping the area spotlessly clean and organized. She graduated from Ivy Tech College as a medical assistant. She is married to Scott Dickson, and has 2 sons, Chase and Colten. She shares her home with two awesome labs, Duke (shown here) and Lucy. Shannon grew up in Indiana and Kentucky.
Amber MitchellKennel Assistant
Amber is a 2018 graduate of Celina High School. She has been working as a kennel assistant since July 2018. She plans on attending Collin College to take classes in their veterinary technician program and to become a veterinary assistant. She has two pets. C.J. (pictured here) is a 10 year old Shih Tzu, and Kitty, a black and white cat.
