kitty1Allison M. Stead D.V.M.

Dr. Stead (rhymes with “red”), graduated from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in May of 1990. After graduation, she worked in a five doctor veterinary practice in Plano. She also worked part time at the Animal Emergency Clinic. Both work environments provided her with a great deal of medical, surgical, and emergency veterinary experience. After working in Plano, Dr. Stead worked as a relief veterinarian in Plano and Frisco from 2003-2004. In January 2004, she opened The Animal Hospital of Celina in a temporary building just to the north of her current location. Over the next year, she built the current Hospital building, and formally opened in January 2005. The Animal Hospital of Celina recently celebrated their 10 th year in operation in Celina, Texas.

Dr. Stead married her husband, Doug Stead, in April of 2009. They met at the animal hospital, where he was a client with his Bouvier de Flandres dog, Sunny.

Dr. Stead has two daughters. Kaylyn Schultz is a junior at Baylor University. Kaylyn is majoring in Health Science, and is a high jumper on the Baylor Track Team. Lauren Schultz is a junior at Celina High School. Lauren plays volleyball, throws shot and disc, and is the pitcher for the Ladycats softball team. Dr. Stead’s stepson, Travis, lives and works in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

The Stead-Schultz animals include Sammy a Bouvier, and Tucker a Golden Retriever and four cats, Bugsy Malone, Bunny, Nikki and Stillwell Angel. Many of you may have already met Stillwell Angel…he is the little black and white terror that rules The Animal Hospital.

In her spare time, Dr. Stead loves reading, listening to music, traveling with Doug, watching her kids play sports, and cooking.
